How to pack the goods
The suitability of packaging depends on several characteristics:
The fragility of the item
The weight of the item
The boxes used for packaging
THE FRAGILITY OF THE ITEM
Extremely Fragile Items
If the items are extremely fragile, they should be placed in a first box filled with protective material, so that the item remains in the middle and does not touch the walls of the box.
This first box should be positioned in the center of a larger box, leaving at least 5 cm from the outer walls, filling that space with protective material as well.
For certain items, such as bottles, there are special containers made from various materials (polystyrene, etc.) that are essential for the successful outcome of the shipment.
These containers must be of the type specifically certified for use with Express Couriers and are not difficult to find (we have them in-store, contact us if needed).
If the shipment contains more than one item, they must not be in contact with each other in any way.
Moderately Fragile Items
Moderately fragile products should be placed inside the boxes in such a way that they do not touch the outer sides and are not in contact with each other. To protect them, protective materials such as bubble wrap and separators can be used to prevent contact between the various pieces.
Non-Fragile Items
If the items are not fragile, they should still be securely held within the packaging and not in contact with the outer walls.
THE WEIGHT OF THE ITEM
Very Heavy Items
Very heavy items must still be packaged carefully, particularly to avoid abrupt movements inside the box during transport. This is to prevent them from puncturing the box from the inside, causing damage or spillage.
THE BOXES USED
The Box
The boxes should be new and made of cardboard suitable for the weight of the items being shipped. Generally, it is advisable not to make boxes too heavy (we recommend not exceeding 25 kg per single box if possible), but if necessary, double-walled boxes or even plywood or wooden packaging should be used. If wood is used in international shipments, it must have undergone special fumigation treatments.
Sealing the Box
The boxes should be well sealed with strong, cross adhesive tape. In many cases, it will be necessary to use special protections for the corners, made of plastic or recycled cardboard.
Reused Boxes
If recycled packaging is used (only if perfectly intact), all old labels related to the previous shipment must be removed.
DO NOT use packaging bearing symbols related to the shipment of hazardous or prohibited materials. Such shipments will otherwise be blocked.
